Hitachi DH40MR Review: Hitachi DH40MR 1-9/16-Inch SDS MAX Rotary Hammer. Previous to purchasing this drill, I had been using a friends Bosch 11236 SDS hammer drill. I found myself needing to borrow it with increasing frequency and decided it was time to get one. After evaluating reviews and my budget, I decided on the DH40MR. This drill is a SDS MAX and cannot be fairly compared to my friends Bosch 11236 SDS, but the price difference when shopping was only about 15%.
